Sales Manager (Saint-Laurent, Montreal)

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, Sales manager will be responsible for growing the group's sales from a broad portfolio of products (telecom, industrial, laser, LiDAR and sensors), will actively manage customer relationships and sales to meet and exceed the company's revenue and profitability goals.

HERE IS AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a business plan to drive revenue growth;
  • Achieve key sales objectives while creating strategic opportunities for business development and future company growth;
  • Reach out to customers to offer value-added products, and work with the Product Line Specialist to provide technical support, follow up quickly on their needs, and provide ongoing support through training and interaction;
  • Assume overall responsibility for customer management and serve as the interface between customers and the group's business units to facilitate exchanges and broaden contact with the ITF;
  • Plan exhibits at relevant trade shows and attendance at conferences;
  • Map the winning conditions required for the client: budget, deadlines, competition, etc.;
  • Prepare and respond to requests for quotes in collaboration with the technical managers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

Expected qualifications, work experience and skills:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics or equivalent with knowledge of fiber optics ;
Over 10 years of experience in international sales in the high-tech industry or in original equipment manufacturing (OEM);
Bilingual (French-English, English impeccable - most of the work is done in English);
Strong process orientation (negotiation, sales, project implementation, time management, multitasking, etc.);
Strong communication skills, team player, planning and organizational skills (priority management), autonomy and initiative;
Ability to work with remotely located teams and leadership;

Electronics Engineering Manager (Saint-Laurent, Montreal)

Working in a multidisciplinary team on the development and engineering transfer of new products (optical modules, lasers or fiber amplifiers). Focus on development of electronic boards to drive lasers in continuous or pulsed, low and high-power regimes.

TASKS

  • Provide guidance on electronics engineering development activities and advise on priorities

  • Drive team / employee engagement and continuous growth of the team

  • Manage development plans for the team and organize training sessions to grow competency

  • Drive engineering best practices within the team to enable platforming and maximize design reuse

  • Involve in the discussions with customer on technical requirements

  • Interface with customers to resolve problems occurring in the field

  • Recruit and onboard new team members

  • Design electronics boards for the research and development department, including hard ware architecture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, layer stack-up

  • Design electronics boards to drive high-power continuous lasers for laser cutting or marking applications

  • Work with mechanical team on component placement in PCB design

  • Develop test plans for board bring-up test

  • Perform burn-in, debugging,  and optimize the performance of complex electronics circuits

  • Provide support to optical team for system integration

  • Provide support for troubleshooting all system related issues

Product Line Specialist (Montreal)

JOB SUMMARY

The candidate will be responsible for technical sales support in the areas of components and subsystems for the LiDAR and LASER source product line for communications.

He/she will act as a link between customer needs and the internal production, engineering and R&D teams. He/she will provide support to the international technical sales teams and interact closely with the product engineers to achieve ITF's market share objectives in the field of components and modules for LiDAR and LASER sources.

RESPONSABILITIES 

  • Work closely with PLM, R&D and Engineering to convey technical information on new products (or adaptation of existing products) to the sales team. Production of technical application notes;
  • Assist in the development of product roadmaps in line with market needs, and in coordination with strategic marketing and R&D;
  • Participate in international trade shows.
  • Collaborate on product definition and define sales support tools (specification sheets, advertising poster, press release, web page maintenance, social networks, samples, audiovisual presentations) required for marketing;
  • Synthesize information gathered from customers and sales teams. If necessary, assist the PLM with specific market research, in coordination with strategic marketing;
  • Provide technical answers that have been raised by commercial customers. Regular communication with customers, mostly by email but also by phone and teleconference;
  • Work closely with sales team to close sales with the customer (developing solutions, producing spec sheets, producing bids);
  • Assume technical support role for the sales team on a daily basis (customer visits, preparation of responses to customer queries, support in drafting commercial contracts);
  • Manage customer specifications, with the support of R&D and operations.
     

DESIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical or electronic) or technical sales experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar position or technical environment. Experience in LiDAR and/or fiber lasers for communications (an asset).
  • Knowledge of business methodologies, and basic marketing. Knowledge of light propagation in optical fibers (an asset).
  • Fluency in English and French. Knowledge of Mandarin (an asset).
  • Very high level of autonomy required, ability to listen, very good oral and written communication skills, ability to analyze and summarize, very good interpersonal skills.
