ITF’s Multimode combiners can be used to combine the power from several multimode laser diodes, with an optional signal feed, into a single, double or triple clad output fiber. These combiners are designed to address fiber optic applications used in various markets, including industrial, telecom, research and medical.

Our processes are capable of high flexibility in the design leading to thousands of different fiber configurations. Most configurations are also available at different power levels and with different packaging options, made to fit your application whether you work with a few Watts or up to multi-kW levels.

Our End Pump Multimode Combiners feature exceptional optical performance. These devices can be used to combine the power from several multimode laser diodes with an optional signal feed into a double or triple clad output fiber.  Matched to the specific pump fiber you are using, we can provide a combiner that will fit your laser diode supplier. Our High Power package enable us to achieve multi-kW power levels in a wide variety of fiber configurations.

side PUMP multimode combiners: When signal transmission is not to be overlooked

Optimized for counter-pumped laser and amplifier designs, when signal is important

Our Side Pump Multimode Pump and Signal Combiners feature exceptional optical performance. These devices can be used to combine the power from several multimode laser diodes with a signal feed into a double clad fiber (DCF). In Side Pump combiners, the input and output ports are the same continuous fiber, providing exceptional signal transmission performance and low signal degradation. They are offered from 1 up to 6 pump input ports, in a wide variety of fiber configurations. Available in our low, medium or high-power packages, to make sure to have the most cost effective solution for your application.

LMA fibers are often used in high peak power pulsed laser design.  In order to reduce nonlinear effects, these lasers (or amplifiers) make advantages of a counter pump design.  It is also mandatory to preserve fundamental mode propagation for these specific designs. ITF’s Side Pump Multimode Combiners are optimized to preserve as much as possible the modal content of the amplified signal.

DIRECT PUMP multimode combiners: all-glass and high brigtness output

Optimized for direct pumping applications or to use in “combiner tree” architectures

These devices can be used to combine the power from several multimode laser diodes into a single or double clad output. They can meet a wide range of power handling requirements and a large selection of input/output fiber types. These “all glass” or large output core Multimode Combiners come in our high power package and offer a maximum conservation of brightness for high power applications like direct diode materials processing and first stage of “combiner tree” fiber laser designs.
